United Service Organizations

Victra is a proud supporter of the USO!

The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. Since 1941, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve people in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side.

Today’s USO continuously adapts to the needs of people in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their very important mission. They operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.

“My interactions with the USO started when I was heading to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. I landed in St. Louis and was lost in the airport. This was my first time ever flying on a plane and I had no idea where I was going. I asked for assistance and I was immediately directed to the USO area of the airport. These people were awesome! They made me feel at ease as I was nervous enough with being in an unusual place not mention about to go to basic training. They were the most helpful people I had met to this point and they helped me find my way to were I was to meet up with others going to basic training as well.”

“My favorite story about the USO is from when we ported in Haifa, Israel. Command recommended we stop at the USO headquarters there. Most of us went and they had games rooms, movie rooms, telephones for long distance, pool tables and foosball tables and dart boards. They had people there to teach us about local customs and where money exchanges were and where all the cool spots were. They had trips set up to go to Bethlehem and other areas around the region. It was a great experience and remains one of my favorite.”
